Performance Coaching

What is Performance Coaching?

"...unlocking a person's potential to maximize

their own performance..."

Tim Gallwey, author of The Inner Game.

You (or your loved one/performer) have spent a lot of time, money, and energy into developing and managing the physical side, but what about the mental side?

As weird as it sounds, the development of mental skills doesn't happen by chance! A performance coach helps performers develop and strengthen the mental skills that optimize performance and give an extra competitive edge.

Performance coaching is designed to highlight areas of strength, improve areas of weakness, learn the critical skills for improving performance, increase enjoyment, and prevent burnout. Performance coaching is also helpful for those going through, or coming back from an injury, and/or approaching retirement.

Do You...

  • Feel like nerves are getting the best of you?

  • Feel like your mind is preventing you from performing at the level you know you are capable of?

  • Perform better in practices than in competitions or performances?

  • Struggle to take your performance to the next level?

  • Have trouble bouncing back from a mistake?

  • Struggle to get in, or stay in, the zone?

  • Have inconsistent performances?

  • Have difficulty focusing in high-pressure situations?

  • Feel less enjoyment than you used to?

TEAMS:

A championship team is defined by its ability to seamlessly work together to achieve a common goal.

The teams that win are the ones whose athletes are cohesive, confident in themselves and each other, have good leaders and role players, and work hard to achieve their goals.

If your team is not reaching its performance goals, is having difficulty communicating, is lacking leadership, or is unable to function as a cohesive unit, then contact me to see how we can work together.

COACHES:

As a coach and leader, you have accepted the responsibility for creating a training environment that fosters athletic development and produces success. Being a coach has many rewards, but it also comes with many stressors and challenges - one being the limited number of people who understand your responsibilities and challenges, and who are in a position to help you reach your goals.

Caitlyn is able to assist coaches:

  • raise the level of cohesion and consistency within their team,

  • improve communication with their players and staff

  • manage the pressure of fans, parents, players, and organizations

  • develop their coaching philosophy and approach to training

  • define and reach their own performance and personal goals, and

  • increase their enjoyment in the area which they have dedicated their life.

PARENTS & CAREGIVERS:

As a parent you naturally want the best for your child - whether it’s at school, home, in sports, or performing arts. But knowing how to help your child improve performance in sports without pressuring them is a fine line to walk. Caitlyn can help you manage the balancing act of being a fan while also being a parent.

As a sports parent, you can help build your child’s confidence and mental game, be a positive support, and learn how to control emotions while on the sidelines.

Caitlyn works with parents on issues such as behavior reinforcement, positive fan behaviors, and maintaining the right role for you as your child grows.
